Senior Connections spotlighted Gregory B. Levett, Sr. and Betty H. Levett, of Gregory B. Levett and Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., as guests of honor at its 2017 Senior Prom, held Saturday, 17 June 2017 at the Thalia N. Carlos Hellenic Center in Atlanta. The Levetts received Senior Connections’ 2017 “Community Connections” Award recognizing them for their outstanding business and community leadership, and for their contributions to the DeKalb community.

The event raised more than $135,000 for Senior Connections’ mission, providing home and community-based services, including Meals on Wheels deliveries, to seniors throughout metro Atlanta. WSB-TV news reporter Tyisha Fernandes served as emcee for the event, and local “soul line dancing” phenomenon Beulah Boys performed. Georgia Congressman Hank Johnson and DeKalb CEO Michael Thurman each came to the dais and praised the Levetts for their commitment to DeKalb. The event also included dinner, high-energy dance band Ready or Not, and both a live and silent auction.
