Haven Fellowship, located at 2240 Smyrna Road, Conyers, announces it will be hosing its annual golf tournament “Birdies for Baskets”. Proceeds raised fund the “basket ministry” that provide assistance to families in need. Last year, the tournament provided enough funding for Thanksgiving meals and household items and again at Christmas for a Christmas meal, household items, and presents for the children in the family.

“We are excited each year to raise money for such a worthwhile cause and help local families in need. This also gives our youth a vital front row seat to struggles that fellow families in the community are going through. It is important to teach young people the act of service,” said Adam Rehberg, Youth Minister at Haven Fellowship. Haven youth were proud to support eight local families last year. Each family was provided a Thanksgiving meal, Christmas meal, presents for the children in the household, and household items when each meal was brought.

“It is such a blessing to see young people engaged in purchasing the meals, groceries, and especially the presents for the children of each household. When the students see the actual faces to go with poverty, I have seen a profound impact on their service to the community throughout the year following the holidays,” said Ernie Forrester, Senior Pastor.
